PROMOTIONAL POSTER FOR "THE RIFT" RELEASED UNVEILING MAJOR CHARACTERS AND RACES FROM THE GAME

SEATTLE, WA, August 25, 1999 -- ThrushWave Technology has just released the first promotional poster for its upcoming 3D real-time strategy space title, "The Rift". The poster, available for viewing on the project's website (http://www.thrushwave.com), features several of the game's major characters: Jacob Viscero, the player's persona, an ex-black marketeer and stowaway on board the first colony ship to Promixa Centauri; Benjamin Corryn, a Chancellor in the colonial council and Jacob's mentor; and Marcus Kristoff, military commander of the Proximan Defense Core.

The poster also features a sneak preview of the three races of "The Rift": the Proximans, who are the human colonists sent to Proxima Centauri, our nearest stellar neighbor; the Nu-guyen, an organic, space-born race whose units are unlike any spaceships man has ever conceived of; and the Entrodii, a mysterious crystalline-based society forged in the heart of a supernova.

Tremendous progress has been made on the engine and artwork for "The Rift", and the team expects to begin beta-testing in the coming months, once multiplayer features have been completed. Details on beta-testing will be forthcoming soon, and new screenshots of "The Rift" are currently available at the website.

Currently, ThrushWave Technology is looking to secure a publishing partner for "The Rift" with worldwide distribution rights. ThrushWave Technology is a small software development company founded in 1996 to create compelling 3D environments and games. "The Rift" is ThrushWave's first independent venture.
